The efficiencies of urban transport systems in several cities are drastically affected due to difficulties imposed by rapid urbanization and the proliferation private modes transport. conventional four-stage travel demand modeling approach provides an ideal platform formulate strategies rectify problems Trip generation is first stage this exercise (where trip production attractions modelled), followed distribution second stage. present work related development models for necessitated use census data number households each zone since available revealed preference (RP) compiled based on household interview surveys was partially incorrect. A review literature indicated that studies sparsely inaccurate such as zone-specific secondary were limited. Modeling efforts after applying corrections characteristics rate per later less than ±5%. latter phase modeling, a log-linear model smaller refined set obtained eliminating erroneous stage-wise manner. calibrated validated ensured predicted frequencies 0.6%. Here, information inter-zonal aerial distances formed part using GIS approaches employed moment area method, which considered intensity land at sub-zone level. combined strategy incorporates GIS-based determine distances, relationship interchanges reliable contributed towards attaining higher accuracies estimation. described herein do not rely sophisticated technology, time-consuming processing. study will provide basic framework planners better where noisy reliable.
